Biography
From
Bethlehem, Pa., to Allentown, to Philadelphia to Montreal, to Vinton,
to Campbell's Bay Quebec - Stephan F. Scrak III tells the
story of his life in his vibrant paintings. Born in 1946, Stephan came
to Canada in 1986 and soon opened a Bed & Breakfast. It was only then
that he pursued his life-long interest in painting. What began as a
diversion quickly became an all-consuming passion. "Seeing things not
only as they are but also as I'd like them to be", he viewed the city
streets of Montreal and the country roads of Pontiac County and shared
his unique appreciation of their beauty with all who cared to see...
"Ravensfield", his first studio (home, studio and hobby farm) on Church Road in Vinton, was
first shared with only Beauté, his Boston
Terrier. They were soon joined by chickens, ducks, geese, Turnip (the
cat who "just turned up"), and by three goats whose curiosity and
playfulness are a constant source of joy.
The studio moved in 2010 to Campbell's Bay Quebec. Turnip has
been joined by 2 other cats and a new dog. The studio has
surprises in every corner - inside and out.
Stephan is now a proud Canadian
Citizen following a long awaited swearing in ceremony.
An
active member of the Pontiac Artists' Studio Tour Association, Stephan
has been the recipient of several awards. One of his paintings was
recently chosen as a winner in a competition sponsored by Rowat
Insurance of Shawville and will be on permanent display at the Bryson
Library.
